Sophisticate Gabrielle arranged a charter flight to Nulato, a few hours northwest of Anchorage. Photographing and writing about wolves was her mission. On her return trip the pilot, Lane Coverall, encounters engine trouble, the two are forced to land in the frozen wilderness. They engaged in their immediate survival, hoped for rescue, and prepared for the worst, finding food and staying warm.
Lane discovered a trap line trail and eventual rescue. In the aftermath of their national attention, Gabrielle comes to the conclusion her New York lifestyle is not as favorable as it once was. But does she have the courage to return to the North and the man she loved?
