An obviously overworked politician talks on the phone with his assistant about delegates from a political action committee who dropped by unexpectedly. He manages to stall them for a few minutes, during which he laments the incessant demands on him to please and appease. He also vilifies those around him who constantly want to use him. In fact, just recently he was forced to get rid of a group's political enemy when he himself found the man rather harmless, if not a bit interesting. As he musters up the energy to meet the delegation in his waiting room, he can't understand what crisis could be so urgent-he got rid of their enemy on Friday, so why do they have to bother him on Sunday morning? As he walks out, we realize Pilate-dressed in a modern suit-is about to find out about the resurrection of Jesus.Topics: THE PERILS OF POWER, A LEADER'S NEED FOR DIVINE HELP, EASTERCharacters: 1 MALEParticipants: 1Author: Judson Poling
